Letter: Whatever's necessary

Isn't it ironic that within hours of the release of the Senate report on the CIA's use of torture that the Taliban unmercifully slaughtered hundreds of innocent schoolchildren? Nat Hentoff's opinion piece in your Dec. 22 edition was headlined “When will trials start for CIA torturers?” My answer, sir, is very simple: When all of the responsible Taliban have been beheaded. We need to continue to do whatever is necessary to protect and safeguard American lives against terrorism.
