Vermont calls for investigation into FairPoint 911 outage

BENNINGTON >> The state is calling for an investigation into FairPoint over a phone service outage that disrupted 911 calls across the state. Locally, the phone systems for the Bennington and Manchester Police departments were down completely for a short time, but Christopher Recchia, commissioner of the Department of Public Service, said the statewide 911 system was disrupted for five and a half hours.
