The price of milk, bread and cans of soup have all surged upward in recent years - but retiree representatives told lawmakers Monday the state's pension system has not kept up. The House Pensions Committee heard testimony on legislation to give retirees in the Kansas Public Employee Retirement System a cost of living adjustment.
