Last week , Indiana state officials led by Republican Governor Mike Pence passed a new law allowing business owners to use their religious beliefs as a defence if sued for discrimination. It caused public outcry, with celebrities including Miley Cyrus and Ashton Kutcher taking to social media to condemn the legislation, believing it could lead to discrimination against gay couples.
