Governor Mike Pence faced a backlash last week after he signed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act into law, allowing business owners to use their religious beliefs as a defence if sued by a private party. Equal rights activists and celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher, Miley Cyrus and gay actor George Takei spoke out against the ruling, claiming it legalises discrimination, and on Monday , Jeff Tweedy's band Wilco announced they were axing their 7 May show in Indianapolis to protest the law.
