Gov. Mike Spence of Indiana on Sunday defended his state's new religious freedom law during an interview with ABC News. Dr. Ben Carson , the retired Maryland neurosurgeon who is seeking the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, on Monday endorsed Indiana 's controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act .
