JD Gordon: Obama Knows Judges Can Release Gitmo Prisoners In US

Part of President Barack Obama's strategy in closing the military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and moving its remaining 149 detainees to U.S. prisons could be to get them released, former Pentagon spokesman J.D. Gordon tells Fox News. Obama, as a former constitutional law professor, knows that if the terrorist suspects are brought to the United States, judges can release them because there's not enough evidence against them, Gordon said Thursday on Fox News Channel's "Your World with Neil Cavuto."

With Ominous Midterms Looming, Rachel Maddow Smears Joni Ernst as Trigger-Happy Extremist

In yet another sign that liberals view next Tuesday's midterms with fully warranted fear and loathing, Rachel Maddow gamely tried last night to depict GOP Senate candidate Joni Ernst as only a few bullets short of official status as a heavily-armed and barricaded survivalist. Since few people beyond the low-rated, leftist fever swamp that is MSNBC's core audience are likely to have heard Maddow's harangue, its impact on the Senate race in Iowa can safely be described as negligible.

Why the 2016 Republican Primaries Will Be a Messy Venn Diagram

The 2016 Democratic presidential primaries are promising to be rather boring-although anything can happen, at the moment it looks like Hillary Clinton won't have much competition, and if she does it will come from the less-than-electrifying likes of Martin O'Malley . The Republican side is where the sizzle is going to be, with a bunch of interesting personalities slashing each other to pieces in an exhilarating deathmatch.

Rand Paul in 2000: 'End That War on Drugs'

Last week I noted that Rand Paul, since being elected to the Senate, has shied away from calling for the legalization of marijuana or other drugs, although he has said that drug policy should be handled mostly by the states. As Tom Angell points out , Paul made bolder comments on the subject during a 2000 TV appearance , although not quite as bold as some people claim.

Feds Investigate Use of Park Lodge by Obama VIPs, Biden

The four-bedroom Brinkerhoff Lodge in Grand Teton National Park has been reserved for official purposes only since 1992, but the Park Service's interpretation of that policy has been so broad that senior officials have been allowed to flop for cheap if there's even just a smidgeon of official business involved, according to Time.com.

Dem. Jeanne Shaheen can't say if she approves of Obama, prompts laughter

Democrat Jeanne Shaheen, right, can't say if she approves of Obama or not in debate with Scott Brown, left. Romney, Dole campaign with Kansas US Sen. Roberts

Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney campaigned Monday in Kansas with U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts, an effort to bolster the three-term incumbent's message that GOP voters must re-elect him to thwart the agenda of Democratic President Barack Obama. Romney, who lost to Obama when the president won re-election in 2012, appeared with Roberts and other top Kansas Republicans for a rally at an upscale suburban Kansas City-area restaurant and bowling emporium.

At the same time, there was widespread acceptance that the Islamic State "may well" have influenced both Michael Zehaf-Bibeau and Martin Couture-Rouleau, the man who ran down two soldiers in Quebec, killing one.
