Embattled Attorney General Eric Holder, after a bumpy run of nearly six years and a bit of summer soul-searching, is stepping down as the nation's top prosecutor. The official word that the first black attorney general would resign came Thursday at an emotional news conference where President Obama praised his friend, one of the original appointees to his Cabinet.
