Political observers say Scalise will weather storm over speech to 'hate group'

U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-Metairie, said Tuesday that he regrets speaking to a white supremacist group before becoming a member of the Congress. Since the recent revelation of the speech Scalise gave to the European-American Unity and Rights Organization, or EURO, which was founded by former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, the Southern Poverty Law Center has said the organization is a "hate group," and that Scalise should resign his leadership post in the Congress.
