The US Congress has passed a one-week bill to avert a partial shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security, amid a chaotic stand-off over President Barack Obama's immigration policies. The House of Representatives approved the measure late on Friday by 357-60, after it was easily cleared by the Senate.
