Police from SouthCoast to attend funeral for fallen NYC officer

Wearing black mourning bands over their badges, police officers across SouthCoast are planning to attend Saturday's funeral for Rafael Ramos, one of two New York City police officers ambushed as they sat in their cruisers on Dec. 20. Police said law enforcement officers are one universal family and they feel the loss of Ramos, 40, and Wenjian Liu, 32, and the entire NYPD even though the tragedy happened more than 200 miles away. The officers were killed when they were shot in the head while on a special patrol in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.
