'SEC Primary' could affect South Carolina GOP primary's impact

There's a chance South Carolina's 2016 Republican presidential primary could be overshadowed by a glut of other Deep South votes in the upcoming White House nomination season. In what's being referred to as an "SEC Primary," officials in five Southern states - Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee - are working together to hold a same-day regional primary, on March 1, 2016.
