Blumenthal: Regional air-bag recall a 'mockery'

U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal on Tuesday renewed his call for a nationwide recall of cars with defective air bags, calling the current limited geographic recall "absurd and arbitrary," and saying it could leave Connecticut drivers vulnerable. The recall issued by the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration last Tuesday included vehicles in high-humidity areas that have Takata Corp. air bags, which can send metal shards flying in a crash.
